John’s vision to build a flourishing world, in which service is the trademark of leadership is being realized by doing what he does best: facilitating cohorts in cities around the world; embedding Serving Leader best practices inside great companies; and certifying partners that co-labor with the Center for Serving Leadership in this vision.

Nelson Okanya

Global Mission President

Nelson serves as Global Mission President of the Center for Serving Leadership and has been a close partner with Center for Serving Leadership since 2012. He comes to us from Eastern Mennonite Missions where he served as President for seven years. Nelson spent most of his time at EMM overseeing the organization’s vision, mission, strategy and implementation and supervising the leadership team. Nelson was also responsible and accountable for overall staff policy, direction, and planning. He brings together the vision of a flourishing world in which serving is the trademark of leadership. He is an asset in our efforts to continue expanding our investments into Africa, Asia and Latin America and we thank God for him and our team.

TONI KELLAR

Director, Programs & Curriculum

Toni has a passion for strategic visioning and the process of connecting, aligning, engaging, and empowering people and systems. As Director of Programs and Curriculum, Toni serves to shepherd our programs in a state of continuous improvement. She brings more than 30 years of experience in communications, program design, program/project leadership, and community service to her role. Prior to joining the Center, Toni served as the director of marketing and corporate communications for parent company Newton Consulting. She has been an independent consultant for community and strategic development, program director of a nonprofit education center, founder and director of Roots To Rhythm interactive group development programs, photojournalist and editor at metro and community newspapers, and has served on many nonprofit boards. Toni holds a Bachelor of Science in Journalism degree from Ohio University.
